The first-ever World Usability Day inspired international impact for the Usability Professionals' Association. Starting with UPA's idea to create an Earth-Day-style event focused on “technology that works the way it should,” the first-year program inspired the development of 135 events in 35 countries. The day was covered in important media outlets around the world, including USA Today, major AM news stations in San Francisco and Seattle, CNN Headline News, the Australian Broadcasting Company, the BBC, and many others.
